On the southern side of Gold Coast, the Tugun Theatre Company is deeply immersed in rehearsals at the Kirra Hill Community and Cultural Centre for their first show of 2024, "The Haunting". Are you a believer in ghosts or the supernatural? If not, director Nathan Schulz and his team, which includes Barry Gibson, Cecile Campbell, performers Graham Scott, Lance Hawkins and the backstage crew, will make you reconsider! They are still seeking individuals to join the crew and help create a truly unforgettable haunted experience using live sound effects and practical effects.

If you are interested, please email thehaunting2024@gmail.com, as the team is transitioning to the renovated Tugun Community Hall to start piecing together the unsettling puzzle for the audience!

If you are only interested in attending the show, you can purchase your tickets for this Victorian tale inspired by ghostly stories written by Charles Dickens starting Monday, April 8th, on www.tuguntheatre.org when the box office opens. Keep an eye on their Facebook page for some eerie photos by One76 Studio coming soon!

Across the border in Tweed Heads and the Northern Beaches NSW, Tweed Theatre Company are now rehearsing for the hilarious adults drama/comedy play, Crazy Ladies, written by Devon Williamson and directed by Gary Johns.

This play follows the story of Pamela Browne who has organised a 25-year reunion for her four best friends from high school. From the moment Kay (now a chocoholic funeral director) arrives, the wheels begin falling off of her meticulously planned week-end.

Added to the mix are Sandy, who is now apparently a nun, Dianne, now married to the school nerd and a mother of eight sons, Rachel, a runaway teenager on a mission to dig up dirt on her mother and Shaun, the greasy motel janitor. This outrageous comedy is a roller-coaster ride of emotion and be sure to book your tickets at www.tweedtheatre.com.au for the shows run in June from 16th to July 2nd.
