RED HAT AWARD
CITATION 2022
GILLIAN CROW RED HAT GCTAI
Late in 1996 our Red Hat recipient for 2022 was persuaded to take a role in a production of “Bazaar and Rummage” at Javeenbah Theatre. She thankfully agreed to Stage Manage as well as play the small role of a Policewoman. And thus her voluntary service in Community Arts in the Gold Coast region began - 27 years ago and continues to this day.
Demonstrable INDUSTRY, DEDICATION, RELIABILITY and COMMITMENT highlights the work of this RED HAT recipient. Everyone can have great ideas but the things that set our creative apart is having the drive to make it happen in a positive, honest and transparent manner and she has done so for many years. From the very beginning this creative became a vital cog in the Javeenbah family. No one can remember when she has not taken a position on Committee, being the Company’s Assistant Treasurer for at least the last 15 years. She has also maintained her On-Stage appearances, as well as adding Directing to her backstage roles and has been consistent member of the Production Committee for many years.
She is a Cue -de-Force as an Active Member of Javeenbah. She is always there to help out on any production, whether it be Artwork, Set Dressing, Costume making, or props acquiring. Then on top of that, she helps to shop to stock the bar and theatre for every show. A tireless volunteer worker who is always there to give a hand. This outstanding recipient has made a tangible difference to Community Arts, particularly at Javeenbah.
The Gold Coast Theatre Alliance proudly announces that the 2022 recipient of the RED HAT award is Gillian Crow from Javeenbah Theatre Company.
